Is it easier to imagine the end of the world or the end of capitalism?

Towers are for me a big source of inspiration, familiar landmarks that I always meet with joy when I walk around the city. Towers are designed to stand against the challenges of time, symbols of a system of power that seems evermore exploitative and undisputed. My will to imagine a different future often clashes with my instinctive fascination towards these objects, that I nonetheless find extremely beautiful. This contradiction adds to the growing awareness of the fact that there isn’t a functional alternative to capitalism at the horizon, and often it’s easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism.

This work tries to embody this struggle in a playful way, offering the image
of towers that are not tall, nor technically advanced or durable. They are an embodiment of my relation with the urban landscape, a game between my hopes and my fears.
